HOW TO USE INGREDIENT-FIRST COOKING

Start with the ingredient that gives you a reason to cook

Sometimes that is chicken you already defrosted. Sometimes it is half a bag of spinach, cooked rice from yesterday or potatoes that need using. Once one ingredient is fixed, the dinner decision becomes much smaller.

Add one base and one flavour direction

A useful dinner often needs less invention than it seems. Pair the main ingredient with a base such as rice, pasta, potatoes, noodles or bread, then choose a coherent flavour direction such as tomato and herbs, lemon and garlic, soy and chilli, or curry spices.

Tell SIZZIO the constraints that actually matter

Add servings, cooking time, ingredients you want to avoid, and the style of meal you fancy. Those details make an ingredient-first recipe far more useful than simply asking for “recipes with chicken” or “recipes with eggs”.
