Every numeric ingredient above is scaled from 4 to 2 servings. Seasoning and cooking time may still need judgement.

HOW TO USE IT

A quick answer, with enough context to use it well.

Cooking for two from a six-person recipe should not mean doing mental maths beside the hob. Enter the original servings, your target servings and the ingredient quantities to scale everything by the same ratio.

  1. Enter how many servings the original recipe makes.
  2. Choose how many people you want to cook for.
  3. Add ingredient quantities and SIZZIO scales each number by the same ratio.

Useful examples

Serves 4 → serves 2: multiply ingredients by 0.5

Serves 2 → serves 5: multiply ingredients by 2.5

Serves 6 → serves 3: multiply ingredients by 0.5

COMMON QUESTIONS

About recipe serving scaler

Can every ingredient be scaled exactly?

Most ingredient quantities scale mathematically, but seasoning, raising agents and cooking times may need judgement rather than a strict multiplier.

Does cooking time double if I double a recipe?

Usually not. Pan size, food depth and appliance load all affect cooking time, so use the scaled ingredients without assuming the time scales equally.

Can SIZZIO scale imported recipes?

Recipe Import lets you choose servings so the imported recipe can be rebuilt around the number you want to feed.
